What information do we collect through our website and how is that collected?
In order to become a Member, Patron or to sign up to the CHT Newsletter, our website invites you to provide us with personal information, for example, your name, contact address, contact telephone, and contact email information. If you wish to become a member of CHT we may ask for your date of birth. If you wish to make a donation by Gift Aid, we may also ask for your bank details.
 
We also collect information about your visits to and use of this website including information about your computer such as your IP address, geographical location, browser type, referral source, length of visit and number of page views.
 
We use cookies on our website. Cookies are text files which are downloaded to your computer (or other electronic device) in order to collect visitor information. This includes whether the user has logged onto the site successfully and whether the computer and/or user have visited the site previously.
 
You can set your browser not to accept cookies however some features of our website may not function as a result.
 
How and why we use your personal data
Under data protection law, we can only use your personal data if we have a legitimate reason for doing so, e.g. to keep you informed of upcoming events and CHT news or where you have given consent.
 
Who has access to your information
Your personal data is stored on a cloud-based server. Your data is accessible to all Trustees of the Charity. On a day-to-day basis your information is only accessed by the Membership Secretary, Committee Secretary or CHT administrator to perform their proper duties and The Data Protection Controller, who is responsible for safely storing all your personal data. If you would like to check the data which is held about you or if you wish your data to be deleted, you need to contact the Data Protection Controller.
